With the belief that nobody is too old to learn something new, she certified as Level 1 Coach to pass the skills on to anyone willing to give it a try. Knowing the adversities that can come with PTSD and anxiety, you can often find her instructing from a stable double shell, bringing confidence to novice rowers of any age and fitness level. When she is not at the boathouse, Coach Miriam travels with the junior team to regattas.

Leaving her birthplace Germany and a career in pediatric nursing behind, Coach Miriam accompanied her husband during is military service around the world until she settled down in San Diego where she changed her full-time occupation to winemaking and winery management. Coach Miriam’s favorite command at the boathouse is “Hands On!,” because it exemplifies CRSD’s volunteer spirit and her own motivation in getting things done and moving together as a team.
