EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Instruct Students

  • Demonstrate proper procedures for handling equipment.

  • Demonstrate proper rowing technique, kayaking, and stand-up paddle board.

  • Provide feedback to correct errors.

  • Ensure all students are engaged and learning

• Safety

  • Analyze the weather, winds and tide and determine the safest activity for students.

  • Follow and teach boathouse use and policies.

• Equipment Management

  • Ensure all students understand and demonstrate the appropriate use of all rowing, kayaking, SUPing and training equipment. 

  • Communicate to the Boathouse Captain in a timely manner about any maintenance and/or replacement needs for equipment.

  • Clean and store equipment correctly

• Administrative duties

  • Keep daily attendance records. 

  • Collect waivers for each student and maintain accurate contact information.

• Recruiting Duties

  • Help the Program Director with meetings, information distribution, phone calls, and emails to garner signups for CRSD programs.
