COMMUNITY ROWING OF SAN DIEGO
MASTERS CREW &
COMPETITIVE TEAM

Community Rowing’s Masters Program is open to experienced rowers ages 21 and up. While many of our rowers enjoy racing, competition is not required—we welcome anyone looking to train regularly, build fitness, and enjoy the camaraderie of a team.
If you're new to rowing, we ask that you first complete a Learn to Row class. [Link to Learn to Row page]

Coaching & Assessment
Our experienced coaches work with each new rower individually, taking into account previous rowing experience and on-the-water performance.
Competition
Masters rowers may choose to compete at regional regattas throughout the year. Participation is based on:
-
Rowers’ interest and skill level
-
Practice attendance and availability
-
Team needs and race goals
Some regattas include inclusive line-ups with all interested rowers, while others may be more selective. Final race line-ups are typically set 2–6 weeks before an event.
Even if you're not racing, you're still encouraged to attend practices regularly and be part of the team.
Practice Schedule
While our Masters schedule varies, one can anticipate practicing 3-5 mornings per week, typically meeting at 5:15 AM. Practices include both sweep and sculling.
Fees
Participation is just $40/month, which includes all coached practices. This helps us support our coaching and equipment.
